Fairy Dance (2024) is a mixed media work on paper by contemporary artist Alessandria Rosa. The piece features an abstract composition of overlapping shapes and vibrant hues, created using a combination of acrylic paint, markers, and delicate paper cutouts. The overall effect is a whimsical energy and movement, with the eye drawn to interpret the various elements of a garden where flowers bloom with the essence of serenity and fairies dance with ethereal grace.
She put herself through a community college while still in high school before transferring to Western Washington University to receive a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Studio Art and Graphic Design.
Alessandria is currently trying to start her own art business. She also works in procurement and occasionally does freelance graphic design. Over the course of the past six years, Alessandria has experimented with the idea of creating abstract paintings utilizing fluid acrylic paint and mixed media. Since then, she has exhibited her work in group gallery exhibitions and local neighborhood venues. She has also granted permission for her artwork to be used on packaging. Alessandria is presently on display at the Onyx Gallery in Seattle's downtown Pacific Place.
Alessandria frequently draws inspiration for her artwork mostly from her own personal experiences and feelings. She gets inspiration from a variety of places, including her personal life, her spirituality, and the natural world. Alessandria also uses collage and drawing to produce her pieces in addition to paint pouring.
I utilize my work to communicate and process my feelings about healing from trauma, staying present, and connecting to the divine energy of the natural world. There are many ways that I convey these themes in my art, and the specific approach will depend on the emotional impact of the experience I am working through.
My ultimate goal is to serve as an example of how to express the process of redemption via spirituality and to release pain through art. For myself and maybe even the viewer, I want to provide a cathartic outlet.
