Artwork Description
Description
The Seattle Space needle stands against a moonlit sky with stars, surrounded by the bright colors of skyscrapers.
Artist Information
Bio
Laura Diane Cameron is a Seattle-based artist and eclectic witchy nerd, born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (which means she loves the partly-cloudy, temperate climate–with occasional sun breaks). She received her BFA in Painting from Washington State University and has been creating art for over two decades.

Her projects and commissions have ranged from book illustrations and illustrated chapbooks, album cover art, movie props, portraits of people and animals, interior murals, Oracle decks, and visionary altarpieces.
Artist Statement
My work is an alchemical narrative of imaginal worlds manifested through this reality and the realms between. I channel and create visionary paintings of Goddesses, mystic beings, intuitive guided journeys, and dreams, and am most inspired by exploring the mysterious, the unusual and the uncanny.

I take a mixed-media and multi-dimensional approach to my work, layering paint over acrylic mediums, pastes and clay to build up textured and high-relief sculptural elements to the paintings. To create an interstitial play between 2-D and 3-D elements, I also incorporate found and upcycled materials such as cloth, nylon fiber, beads, shells, crystals and wire--whatever is required to tell the story or unveil what has been hidden from view.
