Artist Information
Bio
Lotte is an eco-friendly artist based in Sammamish, Washington. She uses mixed media to create her paintings and lets the process of intuitive painting guide and inspire her.

The majority of her art materials are eco-friendly – she uses milk paints, walnut oil, and natural pigments and makes her own natural dyes. She makes her own paper substrates from discarded paper or raw organic canvas hung on beautiful sticks in addition to regular watercolor paper and canvases.
Prominent themes in her art are the beauty of nature as well as an exploration of the feminine and different aspects of herself.

She regularly displays her art in local venues and markets and teaches Intuitive Painting workshops at StudioLife in Seattle and Feel Good Art School.
Artist Statement
Connecting to the sensations in my body I make shapes and choose colors to release them on the canvas. Intuitive creative play is the source and inspiration of my art, which is evident in the multiple layers and texture in my paintings. In addition, I am intrigued by the feminine and different aspects within myself expressed through female figures in my art.

I also deeply believe in our individual responsibility for the well being of our earth. For this reason, I use mainly environmentally friendly art materials like casein (milk) paints, walnut oil, and natural pigments and I make my own natural dyes. I create my own paper substrates from discarded paper, or from raw organic canvas hung on beautiful sticks in addition to regular watercolor paper and canvases.
