Artist Information
Bio
Inga Knysh is a painter, urban sketcher and communication expert living in London. Inga has been painting professionally since 2018. She uses watercolour, combining wet-on-wet and dry brush techniques.
Artist Statement
Inga’s paintings are full of urban life. They often feature cityscapes. She is fascinated by the way that light transforms ordinary city sites. To capture urban life, she sketches daily and regularly paints on the plein air outside.

Her work is often inspired by her experiences in the city and her love of architecture and music. Inga’s paintings reflect her interest in wabi-sabi philosophy and aesthetics, as the acceptance of transience and imperfection. She explores themes of light and shadows, speed and pause, and she is keen to create harmony between the city and its people by depicting everyday scenes.

Her paintings are airy and sincere, gentle and atmospheric. She strives to capture the light and the mood the way impressionists did. She is also inspired by the artworks of William Turner, John Blockley and Camille Pisarro.

Inga is very passionate about watercolour paints and believes we are witnessing this medium’s merge and rise in the 2020s.
