Artist Statement
“What do you think an artist is? An imbecile who has only his eyes…? On the contrary, he is constantly alive to the heartrending, fiery or happy events to which he responds in every way.” This statement made by Picasso in 1945 is no less relevant today, and is one with which I deeply identify. As an artist, I create work in response to events in my daily life while expressing myself within the aesthetic parameters that define my practice. My diverse cultural background has been influential in shaping a multidisciplinary approach towards my art. Though my body of work is eclectic, it is defined by a conscious balance between the conceptual and the aesthetic. My work appeals to collectors and art lovers who not only enjoy living with art that upholds standards of beauty and skill, but who also enjoy the intellectual aspect and wit I bring to my art.
