Bio
Seattle based painter and operations manager Nita Coby creates abstract and portrait acrylic and mixed media paintings in vibrant energetic colors. Nita has been drawing and creating caricatures since she was 8 years old. While attending the University of Washington, Nita studied toward a bachelor’s of Art. Her painting styles are abstract, and the portraits are a cross between pop and realism. The work reflects human connectedness, and inspirational people - positive energy is a strong influence in the work. Her works are part of the collections of several fine art galleries.
Artist Statement
After deciding to finally explore what makes me happy and what I am passionate about, I’ve returned to painting the things that inspire, reflect positive energy and make me smile. My abstract and portrait paintings are acrylic and mixed media. I am drawn to colors with energy, and brush strokes with the feeling of movement to provide the viewer with an uplifting reaction. If the artwork gives the viewer personal insight and positive inspiration, then I feel I have a good painting.
