Bio
Michelle grew up in Houston and studied Neuroscience, Studio Art, and Spanish at Tulane University. She has lived in and showcased her works in 3 continents, and is now in grad school in Chicago, Illinois working on a medical degree and PhD in Neuroscience.
Artist Statement
I have always loved making and viewing art. I have lived in Houston, New Orleans, Baltimore, Madrid, Buenos Aires, and now Chicago - through all of those changes, visual art has been a constant. It is a way to communicate when words aren't enough, and it is a way to connect across language barriers. I love experimenting with different mediums; although my training is in drawing and painting, I love printmaking, quilling, and embroidery for the tactile methods of creating these art forms provide. Though I am still exploring and expanding my style, I am excited to share this journey with you all!
