Lisa Berkman
Bio
I am a Seattle artist working in primarily oil paint. I have a BA in art from the University of Washington. After graduation, I went head on into raising a family. Creative endeavors revolved around kids activities and projects. I loved all of it! As time allowed I was able to take classes at the Kirkland Arts Center - a place a cherish. It was there that I got my painting pace back and I have been working at it since!
My approach to painting is process oriented in that each mark I make informs the next. I am interested in color relationships in particular. I have a love affair with black, and it will be found in most of my pieces. Texture is also integral to the success of my work. I strive to make works that are interesting and different every time they are viewed.
I have had works in juried exhibitions at the Kirkland Arts Center Gallery, Lynn Hanson Gallery, EAFA gallery, and solo shows in various coffee shops and breweries in Seattle.
