Bio
Midwest-born and raised, Ellen (they/them), moved to Seattle for the lack of bugs and excess of evergreens and now lives on Beacon hill.
Their artistic practice has primarily focused on Oil painting and photography, which often meld together.
Artist Statement
My work expresses the tone of existing under a pandemic; beauty exists within isolation and struggle, and I work to pull that out wherever possible. This collection contains a mixture of color studies, landscapes, and still lives that play with many elements of emotion and scenes from my life during the first year of the pandemic.
