Bio
Elizabeth Kim is a DC-based painter from San Francisco, California. She uses acrylic paint and is largely self-taught, finding inspiration in the world around her. She has lived in DC since 2019, and in addition to painting, she loves exploring Rock Creek Park, camping, and learning guitar.
Artist Statement
Elizabeth Kim paints anything that inspires a sense of finding beauty or playfulness in the ordinary. Her vibrant interpretations of everyday images aim to uphold an other-worldly or dreamlike lens through which the viewer can experience ordinary scenes as something magical. Captivated by disarray, old or discarded objects, and all facets of human individuality, she treasures the search for subjects in her everyday life just as much as the process of painting them.
