Bio
Born and raised in Turkey, I have always been captivated by the power of art to convey emotions, ideas, and narratives. Currently residing in Northern Virginia, US, I have embarked on a creative journey fueled by my educational background in literature and public history. In my quest to expand my artistic horizons, I am currently taking classes at the Art League Alexandria.
As an artist, I draw inspiration from a multitude of sources, including my personal experiences, cultural heritage, and observations of the world around me. My artistic influences are diverse, ranging from classical techniques to contemporary expressions. I have been fortunate to learn from esteemed artists such as Teresa Oaxaca, Jennifer Balkan, Susan O'Neill, David Carlson, and currently John Blee, who have shaped my artistic perspective and encouraged me to explore new avenues of creativity.
My preferred medium is mixed media, allowing me to experiment with different materials and textures to convey the essence of my artistic vision. Acrylic paints serve as my primary tool, but I also incorporate textiles, foam, wire, and resin into my creations. This amalgamation of mediums allows me to bring depth, vibrancy, and tactile elements to my artwork.
As a self-taught artist, I have embarked on an ongoing journey of self-discovery and exploration. Each brushstroke and artistic endeavor serves as a learning opportunity, pushing the boundaries of my artistic abilities and bringing forth new discoveries. Through my art, I aspire to evoke emotions, spark introspection, and create visual narratives that resonate with viewers on a profound level.
My ultimate goal as an artist is to communicate my unique perspective on the world and to provoke meaningful conversations. I strive to bridge the gap between the mundane and the extraordinary, inviting viewers to see the beauty in simplicity and to contemplate the complexities of the human experience.
