Artist Statement

Cathy Rowe’s art seeks the brilliant color and emotion in every moment. Her mediums have spanned fine art acrylic painting, mixed media, watercolor, illustration and murals. But, through all these techniques her colorful and textured style has stayed consistent. Her inspiration comes from nature and myth. She seeks the subtle magic that is common place in the natural world. Her paintings will often incorporate skillfully applied materials to instill a sense of wonder in the viewer. Elements of myth and fantasy are appropriated and hidden within many pieces in an ambiguous way.
